+ As I mentioned the other day, I got Max a leash. Here's the thing: Max HATES the leash. He also LOVES going outside. He is currently yowling and pawing at the window because he wants to go back outside. But he doesn't seem to connect that the leash is required for going outside. I'm not sure what to do

You'll just have to keep working with him on the leash, get him used to it. Hook it to him and let him run around inside with it just on him (make sure he doesn't chew on it or get tangled though.) I don't think ANY dog likes a leash right off the bat, but they do all get used to it. Well, up to a point. I still feel like I'm the one being walked most of the time as I'm being pulled along.

He's a cat, bb. :) Walking a cat is a lolarious experience, trust me.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. lol now I feel dumb. Haha.
We never got our cat used to walking on a leash, but he would drag it around the house with him and not pay it mind. The moment a human picked it up though he'd flip out. He was always a little weird though.

You need to condition him for the leash. Set it near him. Let him smell it. Praise him. A lot. Give him treats. After a few days of that, move to putting the leash on him. Don't do anything other than just clip it to his collar. Don't even hold it. Praise him. A lot. Give him treats. Then after he is okay with that idea, move to holding the leash while it's on him. Etc. Etc. Etc.

Or, hey. Let's do this. I'll come leash-train your cat. You come potty-train my four-year-old who is suddenly having a really bad regression. Again. Like...4 weeks after the last one ended. I AM LOSING MY FUCKING MIND!

Hee, cats are so adorable!
A friend of mine got her two cats used to their leashes pretty well after some time. Maybe Max will learn to connect going outside with the leash.
