I wrote this whole thing about what I've been up to, but it was depressing and boring and even I don't care.

Yesterday I walked through the farmers market on the way downtown and saw something you don't see every day: three women in hijabs buying eggs from two Amish women in bonnets and aprons.

i have no idea what i'm doing, ann arbor

It is. Honestly, one of the things I missed the most when I lived in Bulgaria was the diversity of the US. Bulgaria has its own diversity, it's not monoethnic (Chrome says that's not a word, btw; fu Chrome), but it's not a multicultural as the US and it really is good to see lots of people from lots of backgrounds all kind of trying to figure out how to get along and function together in a single society.

HEARTS RAINBOWS STARRRRRRRRS!!!!

AMERICA. FUCK YEAH.

Reminds me of the best NYT headline in the history of headlines.

"Iraq War Vet Saves Rabbi's Wife From Choking On Phillie Cheesesteak At Yankee Stadium"

I remember taking my friend's cousin to Ann Arbor for the first time. Ryan was 13 or 14 at the time and our lovely little one-movie-theater town was his usual Saturday afternoon hangout, so it was a big deal for him. We were making a run to Harry's for some camo pants (yes, I was that girl in high school) We get in off the 172 exit and barely get into town and he starts going "Look at all these freaks. There are freaks everywhere." I look around and all I see is college kids. And I was like, "Dude, we haven't even hit the State street shopping district yet. Settle down back there. You'll know when you see the freaks." And you know what I never knew? Smoking pot on the street in AA is like a $15 fine. All this time I could have been walking down the streets of Ann Arbor smoking pot and now that I know it, I gave up the pot. Damn timing. Oh, now I'm all nostalgic for Harry's. And Stairway to Heaven.

lulz, Ann Arbor is the most conservative place I've ever lived. That is so funny. I hardly ever see freaky shit in Ann Arbor.
