I saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I last Friday, but with the holidays, etc. I didn't have time to sit down and write a decent entry about it until now.

The scene from the book where Harry and the Dursleys say goodbye. WHY is that scene not in the movie?! Dudley needs his redeeming moment, damn it!

I completely agree! Younger Son (who is just reading the book now)and I were just lamenting that omission this evening.

I loved the scene where Hermione erases herself from her parents' memories. Heartbreaking.

I was shocked -- shocked -- that they cut that scene. I know it didn't necessarily advance the plot, but it's such a nice way of tying up the Dursley storyline.
