Happy Halloween, everyone!

I am going to a Halloween party tonight where I will be wearing a newly purchased witch's hat. It reminds me very much of Professor McGonagall's from the Harry Potter series. Yay.  Side note: I will not be wearing a full costume, just the hat. I found a way cool t-shirt with an owl on it, so I'll be wearing that and

Piney, I caught the tail end of "Sid and Nancy" earlier this week. I haven't seen it in years, but I was instantly reminded of how Oldman transformed himself into Sid Vicious.

My 13-year-old loves the Sex Pistols and the whole Sid/Nancy story. I haven't shown her the movie ... but let's just say she's found it elsewhere. She said when she saw the ending of the movie -- with Nancy pulling up in the cab -- she cried. And she doesn't cry much these much days. :-)

She's going out for Halloween as Courtney Love, BTW.

A 13 year old who likes the Sex Pistols? Obviously she's cool beyond her years! :-) Love her costume idea!

Sid & Nancy is a great movie...definitely one of his best performances (but some of the content is not exactly appropriate for certain age groups...it's easy to figure out why you haven't voluntarily let your daughter see it!). The final scene is the best part.

Yeah, you can't tell a kid who says she likes punk that the Sex Pistols are one of the places to start, then expect her to not going looking for them on YouTube. :-)
