He knew it was wrong the second he did it.
Of course - traditionally - when one is reunited with a long-lost, thought-dead family member, the normal course of action is obvious.
After being captured, escaping, being captured again, and now released - by his son, of all people - Cain didn't even begin to process all the information being thrown at him.
There was Jeb; alive, grown up and in charge. Relief and pride aside, Cain was simply impressed.
Why would he think that - being gone for almost a decade - Jeb would react the way he did as a child, upon Cain's return home from his Tin Man duties?
And here he was, breaking the stony exterior he'd always had, except for the privacy of his own home; embarrassing Jeb in front of his 'soldiers.'
As Jeb walked away, confirming that he was okay, Cain looked off into the forest and fought rolling his eyes. He was getting soft.
Damn DG and all her hugging.
