The Brick Route of the Outer Zone has great historical significance - though much of the story has never been verified - and is one of the most common ways to see the eastern portions of the Outer Zone.
No one really knows when the Brick Road was constructed, but mentions of it have been found in stories for annuals. The most well-known is that, at one time, the Road was paved with yellow bricks, though no real evidence of this story has been found. Only some sections of the Road near Milltown have actual brick pavers; most of the Road is simply a well-worn dirt road.
The only town currently along the Road is Milltown, 10 leagues from Central City. Over the years, the town has become a haven for mechanical units and non-mechanical beings (aka humans) are not well-received. Feel free to observe the town from the Road, but enter at your own risk.
Travel through the Papay Fields is at your own risk. Unless you are being chased by Mo-Bats, take some extra time and enjoy a leisurely stroll along the edge of the fields. There is a well-worn path heading north and bypassing the 10-league stretch of Road through the Fields. The added distance is only a few leagues, and well worth your safety.
When you reach the river, make sure to take some time to enjoy the awe-inspiring cliffs and scenery. The view from above gives you an amazing landscape, but can only be seen from within the Papay Fields.
NOTE: Be especially wary while traveling near the Fields. While it is uncommon for the Papay runners to leave the boundaries, it is not unheard of. Also, be on the lookout for a bluish-white goo. This is pre-digestive enzyme and extremely hazardous to your health. It is HIGHLY recommended that you take the alternate route around the Fields and avoid any risk.
As you travel east, past the Papay Fields, the landscape opens into rolling farmlands. 10 leagues from the eastern edge of the Fields, you will find the outskirts of the camp of the Fighters of the Eastern Guild. They are smaller individuals and can come and go rather quickly. Do not provoke them, as they are known to imprison strangers in hanging cages. It is best to observe them from afar.
