"DEAN!" Sam's voice could be heard coming from the hallway. Dean was sitting at the table in the library, with his feet up and a chunk of gingerbread house in one hand. His eyes were on the open laptop, though he did glance up as his brother's form appeared in the doorway, waving a cardboard box. "You're not supposed to open every door in one day, Dean," Sam chided. "It's supposed to last all month."
"Now you're the advent police?" Dean asked, making a face. "Santa gonna get a note?" He reached for the nearest bottle of beer and smirked.
"What are you wearing?" Sam asked as Dean set the gingerbread on the table and sat upright. Dean glanced down at the bright red sweater, featuring kitten heads wearing Santa hats, and outstretched his arms.
"Last year's ugly sweater," Dean replied.
"Why?" Sam asked again, wondering if Dean had been hit in the head.
"Because," Dean proudly replied, pointing to the screen, "I'm totally gonna win, this year." Sam's brow tightened as he moved around to see what had Dean's attention. There was a tracking map on the screen, with a pin at Jody's house.
"Again, Dean," Sam sighed. "Why?"
"Because Jody sent it to me, Sam. And I appreciate my gifts," Dean replied gruffly.
"So, how are you gonna win?" Sam asked, wondering how this ridiculous battle even started. Dean smiled proudly and tapped a button on the keyboard, switching to a different screen. Sam winced as he looked at the green sweatshirt, featuring a giant head surrounded by darker Christmas trees. "Not a sweater, Dean."
"So? It's custom. And it's perfect." Dean glared at his brother lack of awe.
"It's Chris Pine, Dean."
"Yeah," Dean nodded, then huffed. "It's not funny if you have to explain it, Sammy."
Dean hit another button and all the windows closed. Sam made a face and leaned back. "That's it?" Dean smirked as he picked the gingerbread wall back up and shoved it in his mouth. "How do you know she was even home? Or that she'll open it?" Sam asked.
Dean raised a finger as he finished chewing, then pointed to the cellphone resting on the table. A second later, Jody's name appeared on the screen, paired with a familiar ring. Dean simply smiled and tapped the speaker button.
"SCREW YOU, WINCHESTER!" came Jody's voice, really trying to fight a laugh.
