Thompson needed a good lay, Carmen mused to herself, tugging her leather trench tighter around herself. As good as it was to be back in the city, she had to admit she missed the warmth of Texas. Stopping by a stand, she passed over a few wrinkled bills, snagging a greasy pretzel.

She wrinkled her nose at Carmen's snack, its oily shine not lost on her, when a familiar face came to her through the perpetual New York crowds.

Zach whipped his head around, starting when he saw.. her. Candice. Scary Lady. The girl he thought was dating Jimmy only to be corrected and then have Jamie tell him he was right in the first place.. and that she had stuck him with a needle. Sheesh.
He did crash into something then, not seeing what it was until he was spilling over the sidewalk, tangled hopelessly in his bike.
"Ow," he said, attempting to pick himself up and nearly falling again.
A fucking telephone pole--that was just great. He could only pray hope Candice hadn't seen.
