He was lucid, and probably had another half-hour of being awake before the nurse fiddle with his IV again and he wouldn't be able to keep his eyes open. Sleep was more comfortable.

"Hey." he said with uncertainty, his voice hoarse and raspy. He was getting used to strangers stopping in his room, but most called him by his given name. Friend from school? "I'm sorry, do I know you?"

"Not well," he admitted. "This is the first time we've seen each other face-to-face." He looked around uncomfortably for a chair. He saw one and sat down, nearly bumping into one of the many peices of machinery in there.

"The name's Billy Kaplan," he told him. "I came down here for a few days and....heard about you on the news."

"Billy K?" he smiled. "Some way to meet, huh?"

"Yeah..." he said guiltily. "Sorry about your accident..."

"Wrong place, wrong time." he said, with a faint shrug. "One minute I'm folding fliers, the next I'm...here."
