Unfortunately, the laptop was sitting on the bedside table, closed and even powered down, and Nathan was Looking at him.

"What did you and Claire do, Peter? How much damage control needs to be done?"

Peter stopped dead in his tracks, a full five feet away from the bed. Nathan can't you at this distance. So you're safe if you just... never move.

"Nothing," he answered, hating how tight his voice sounded. "Everything's fine. Just... fine. Lots of fine going around."

Nathan quite clearly wasn't buying it.

"So everything being fine is the reason you were swearing all over your LiveJournal."

"See... you weren't supposed to read that," Peter answered, shaking his head a little and giving Nathan a 'look' for being online. "Because you're supposed to be getting better and computers are not included in that."

"I'm perfectly capable of being online right here from my bed, and Heidi confiscated all my work things," Nathan shot back. "And we're not talking about me, Peter."
