"I was in the park yesterday, taking photos, and this guy came over. We talked, and his colours started bothering my eyes -- too many conflicting emotions gives me a headache if I'm not careful. I told him what I could do." He laughed softly, shaking his head. "I need to stop doing that. He said he could help make me better, like it's some sort of sickness. And then he called a bunch of guys in a van, because I wasn't exactly going to go with him quietly, he wasn't telling me everything. Zach shuddered, processing the information piece by piece. "That's awful," he said lamely, but inside he was raging.

Here.. in Odessa... There was a company?? To take care of these things.. Remembering the joking conversation he had had with Claire about her father being a secret agent, he paled.

"Did this man, by any chance, have really ugly glasses?"

Cooper nodded, the enormity of the last twenty-four hours only now hitting him properly.

"Horn-rimmed, I think," he said dully. "He said his name was Bennet."

"Shit!" Zach said, slamming on his brakes in the middle of the street. At least no one drove at this time of day on back roads. "I know Mr Bennet. We have to get the hell out of this town. I have to call Claire.. fuckfuck." He cursed under his breath, making nonsense words as he pulled out his phone.
