Candice leaned back against her car, the picture of calm. Inside, she was bursting with impatience. There was less of a cavalry than she would've liked. Thompson wanted this kept quiet; according to him, they were too close to bagging the Crucifixionist to chance tipping her off by accident.

We don't know what she can do, had been his exact words.

So he'd given them three extraction teams on standby close to the location. That was it. And she wasn't to do anything until Eden landed. That last order did nothing to endear the other woman to her as she watched the plane land.

Eden didn't usually have a problem sitting still. But ever since they'd reached a safe altitude, she'd been pacing the entire paceable area of the plane.

Seriously, what was the point of a secret society if they didn't have those Star Trek teleporter things?

Still better than the airlines, though- she'd grudgingly taken her seat again for the landing, but as soon as they reached a stop she could get right out at ridiculous speed, without waiting for all that general milling about. Awesome.

Finally. Fingers tapping a light rhythm against her arm, Candice moved to intercept the lone passenger disembarking the jet.

"I've got three teams on standby and a lack of details," she commented, wondering silently if the two of them would be enough.

It wasn't Eden's fault that the Company seemed to unable to travel faster than the speed of light, but she still felt her frustration translate to her tone as she spoke.

"Yeah, well, we were lucky to get what we have, it's not exactly a precision science," said Eden, looking anxiously up at the nearest street sign. "The only details I didn't get a chance to tell you are that his name's Nathan Petrelli and she's doing last rites. Are we ready to go?"

Nathan Petrelli?

"He's a lawyer," she supplied, pulling the door on the driver's side open. "High profile." She'd call Thompson to tell him later, if they made it in time. If they lost another victim to the Crucifixionist, she was sure he wouldn't care who it was. Failure had a way of making everyone equal in his eyes.

Pulling the car into gear, Candice sped from the airport, wondering how long last rites took. That was what she got for saying nay to religion a long time before.

"What else do you know? What can she do?"
