He was only walking a few minutes when he was feeling.. more than a little queasy. What was he supposed to do? He technically still had an empath boyfriend. Who better to sort out emotions

Someplace innocuous turned out to be a diner a few blocks away from Cooper's apartment. When Zach got there, Cooper was waiting in one of the booths, hands wrapped around a mug of coffee.

He looked up and smiled at Zach.

"Hey," he said softly, getting up and wrapping his arms around the younger boy.

"Hi," he said, matching Cooper for volume and clinging like a child. He knew he must be shaking, but it wasn't important just now. When he was finally able to dislodge himself from the smaller frame, he sat. He watched the birds, the stars, anything to not look at Cooper, to not think about what was happening.

Clutching his jacket around him in the cool night air, he was surrounded by the subtle scent of Lance and if he weren't already nauseous, well.. now he was violently ill.

And Cooper was almost immediately wrapped around him again, stroking his hair and murmuring, "shh, it's okay. It'll be okay, I promise. Just breathe for now, calm down, and we can talk when you're ready."

Zach tried to focus on the comfort radiating from the other man, tried to just close his eyes and forget it all in his arms.

"He cheated on me."

But forgetting wasn't really an option any more.

He breathed in the scent of Zach's hair, trying to radiate calm and comfort.

"Oh, lovely, I'm sorry," he murmured, pressing a kiss to Zach's hair. "Asking you to be with the both of us was a mistake, I'm sorry it's caused you so much pain. I'm here for you, though, like I promised. I always will be, if it's at all up to me."
