So, running out and buying a 40 dollar book on the word of a crazy stranger that he wasn't so certain was supposed to be running the streets without an escort wasn't exactly the smartest idea.

And wouldn't you know it, a web search of it only yielded crazy conspiracy things, and ads for the book.

He should have given up then. He really should have.

He sighed irritably, as he got into the library elevator--they didn't even have the book in, so he couldn't check it out, either. He simply would have to give up. Because he was not buying it without reading it.

Velour glanced up as the man entered and smiled politely at him, moving aside so he could hit the button for the floor that he wanted.

"Good afternoon," she chirped, tucking her books back into her purse.

Attempting to, at least, until the sheer mass of what she'd bought overpowered her poor little purse. Poor big purse, actually, but still. Four used paperbacks and a thick, hardcover book by an Indian geneticist were a bit too much for it, and they went tumbling all over the floor of the elevator.

He jumped slightly when the books crashed to the ground, a large blue one nearly smashing his foot, and drawing a startled half-yelp. It looked heavy.

"Whoa, need any help?" He asked, kneeling down to pick up the books regardless.

Until of course he happened to see that the book that tried to nail him was the very one he'd been searching for. He blinked up at her a moment, and back at the blue book, before shaking his head, and handing her the book.

"Popular book."
