Very observant, but Candice looked down at herself as if she didn't know exactly what she was wearing. It occured to her that she could change it in a heartbeat, but she was being herself tonight. With everything that that entailed.

"I was planning on going to dance somewhere... somehow ended up here." She smiled, tilting her head. "Drowning my sorrows in alcohol and hoping for a pretty guy to distract me."

"Seems we're both in luck," he said with mock-seriousness, grinning slightly.

"So, Candice, are you a native? Or are you playing tourista?"

"As native as it gets," she smiled. "Keep trying to get away from New York and I keep ending up here." Her skin tingled a little when she met his eyes but she forced herself to ignore it. He didn't know who she was. "Yourself?" She knew, of course, but she couldn't very well say so.

"Not a native, but I might as well be I've been here so long."

Taking a sip of his drink, Lance continued. "I mean, I've seen all the best sights." He let his eyes wander along her body before meeting her eyes again. "Well, most of them."

He vaguely hoped she slapped him, because if not, he was going to have to.

Candice was torn between grabbing her purse and leaving and staying to see where this was going, not that she didn't have a fairly good idea already. It was the thought of being all alone that made her stay. She didn't want to have to call Jimmy again. Things were too foggy there.

Lance... Lance was easy to deal with, she knew just how easy.

"I'll take that as a compliment," she smirked into her drink. "So who is she and what's she done?"
