It was handy that Jimmy kept a window open even in autumn. Granted, it wasn't that cold in Texas, even at night, but it really just made Candice's life a lot easier. She hadn't climbed up into anyone's bedroom since she was in high school. Luckily, she still had a knack for it and wearing jeans had obviously been an inspired choice.
Her foot slipped a couple of times and she half expected him to be up - thank God for basketball practice tiring him out. The boy slept like a log and she hoisted herself up on his windowsill as quietly as she could, managing to scrape only her left elbow in the process.
"Jimmy? You up?" she asked his sleeping form, giddy with the excitement of this forbidden visit.
