No new mail for the second shift. Jimmy idly kicked his feet at the edge of his workstation, turning his office chair in the opposite direction while he continued to stare at his cell.

He wanted to call her. No, he should call. They were talking again, sort of, and calling would be the best friend thing to do. If he remembered the itinerary, the wedding should be nearing the reception.

Jimmy pressed autodial and held the cellphone to his ear, kicking at the table once his chair stopped. If she didn't answer, he could always leave another silly children's song on her voice mail.

No matter what kind of day it was, Casey always loved the ability to sleep in way past the sun's zenith. By that point, it would mean that most people were already done with their daily activities, leaving the city wide open for whatever he wanted to accomplish with as little interference as possible.

Taking a look over at the calendar, he made a mental query as to the date. Something about it itched at the back of his brain until he remembered it was the day that Candice was going to her sister's wedding. Which would mean that the former NYU student probably wanted a chance to escape.

Bringing out his cell phone, he maneuvered down to her entry in his phonebook, about to hit call, when he realized that most weddings probably occurred early in the day.

Hastily changing his mind, Casey quickly texted a message to Candice's phone, his Sony Ericsson eagerly awaiting a response.

Yo 2day is d wedding y/n? U in NYC?

She amused herself by dodging oncoming cars. It wasn't until she'd made it to the other side of the street more or less intact - she had gleefully flipped the finger to a disgruntled, horn-happy taxi driver - that her phone started its annoying little crescendo in her purse.

Fishing it out, she barely had time to glance at the message before it came to life with a loud ring.

Well. Wasn't she popular today?

Hitting reject, she flipped through the buttons quickly, texting a poorly written reply to Casey that might or might not have said something along the lines of: 'Am free as a bird in NYC. Call me.'

"Hey," she switched gears then, waiting until Jimmy had picked up to swallow past the sudden awkwardness in her voice. "I was just going to call you," she lied.

"Liar." Jimmy chuckled, teasing as he balled up more pieces of scrap paper for the trash can gods. "Still partying up a storm without me?"

"You know me too well," she laughed, popping the candy out of her mouth. "I live to be the life of the party." She loved New York. She could have been wearing a Playboy bunny suit and still she wouldn't have received more than a casual glance thrown her way. "I'm currently walking the streets in my new tattoos. It's all very outrageous."
