Billy looked over the small shopping list Zach had given him carefully, following the directions to the market to the t. It had been the first time the older man had trusted him with doing something alone, so the feeling was exhilarating, to finally get out of that apartment. He was going over the list once more when he heard a voice call out to him.

Layla approached him real slow, wiping her hands on her pants, bag of fruit suspended in one hand.

"You don't remember?" she asked slowly, cocking her head--seeing his amnesia. It made her sad to see him this way. Pathetic and alone.

"I can't say I do," Billy told the woman, embarassed. "Can't remember anything past last month." Smooth, Kramer.

She shook her head with a sad expression fixed, other arm darting out to stroke his in a soothing way.

"That's damn awful." What could she tell him? Her brother and he couldn't even remember his name? "I'm Layla. You can call me Butterfly."

A beat.

"Or sis'ter."

Billy stared at the girl, shocked. He had a sister? It couldn't be. Wouldn't he have felt something when he met her? He tried to awaken some foggy memory, but couldn't. "I'm...sorry," Billy said lowly. "I honestly don't remember you."
