Kirin was waiting at his desk, and he had planned on meeting Jamie and Zach at the door. That was the plan until the past few days of barely getting any sleep had caught up with him and he fell asleep with the side of his face planted against the surface of his desk.

Jamie had raised a hand to knock quietly at their door when he saw Kirin sitting with his head down on the desk.

He's going to hurt his neck sleeping like that, Jamie thought with a frown, concern overriding nervousness as he crossed the room to the other boy, crouching beside him.

Reaching out, he smoothed Kirin's hair back from his face. "Kirin. Wake up, we're home."

Kirin's eyes opened and he smiled drowsily at Jamie before he broke into a yawn. He sat up and rubbed at his neck with one hand.

"Crap, I fell asleep. Hi."

Jamie returned the smile slightly before straightening, taking a step back. "You should get into bed," he told him, concern thick in his voice. "Falling asleep at your desk isn't good."

"I can go to bed later," Kirin argued and stretched his arms over his head. "You just got here."

He smiled and stood from the chair, yawning again. "You had a long drive, probably tired."
