12 Days of Christmas - Why We Are Here!
The Premise.
Each year, I write a song based on the Twelve Days of Christmas. Once this is posted, we then write fics based on each line of the song. Overall, this can add up to 78 fics. They are then posted on each of the twelve days of Christmas - December 26th to January 6th.
All fandoms accepted, all ratings accepted, all lengths accepted.
The Rules.
1. The fics are only posted on those twelve days (although there is usually an amnesty week at the end as Christmas and New Year are generally busy holidays).
2. They should be written for the challenge and not posted anywhere beforehand.
3. Please tag your posts with the fandom name and whatever day you are writing for (Day 1, Day 2, etc)
4. Please use an LJ-cut if you post the fics directly to the comm. Links are fine if you wish to post them somewhere else however.
5. Please put warnings on your fics, both for spoilers and disturbing content.
Frequently Asked Questions.
Do I have to write all 78 fics?
No. Write as many or as few as you want - there are plenty of ways of doing this challenge, it doesn't require you to necessarily write 78 fics!
Can I "double up" my fics?
Yes, you can. If your fic for day two also fits the prompt for day eight, by all means post it again! Just note somewhere in the template that it's a repost.
I'm taking part in other challenges this Christmas - can I use a fic for both?
Yes, you can, as long as that fits within their rules too! However, the fic mustn't have been posted anywhere else before its "day" - it can only count as a 12 Days fic if it is first posted within the 12 days.
Can I write original fiction?
No. This is a fanfic challenge so only fanfic allowed.
Can I post fics late?
Yes. If you are off-line on one or more of the days, feel free to catch up afterwards. Just make sure you tag your post with the correct day!
Can I post early?
No. Please do not post fics until their day has arrived or passed.
I don't want to write but I'd like to watch, is that okay?
Yes, it's fine! Please do - 78 fics are a lot, people enjoy being read, it gives us all encouragement!
