Title: Time to Get a New Job
Fandom: Ayatsuri Sakon
Rating: G
Summary: Some days, it's just not worth going to work.
The rollercoaster operator rather thought that after the four years of working in the theme park, he’d seen everything. He’d seen every weird and stupid trick in the book. Until today, he’d have sworn that he couldn’t be surprised by anything. Until today.
“But I am tall enough! Standing on my own two feet and everything, look!”
“No! I mean, yes, but - ”
“See?! See, I am tall enough! This is discrimination!”
“No, it’s - ”
“I say yes! It’s discrimination and if you were any kind of man, you’d get over your prejudices and - ”
“Sir!” the ticket man finally broke through the voice. “You are a puppet!”
“Well, duh! I’m three hundred years old and - ”
“Ukon,” the clearly evil operator said quietly. “He is worried that you might get broken. You can’t go on.”
“But it’s not fair! I want to go on!”
“Things aren’t always fair, Ukon,” the evil operator said. “Come on now. We’re holding up the queue.”
The puppet began to throw more of a temper tantrum than before. The evil operator had the cheek to throw the ticket man an apologetic look before carting his yelling and thrashing puppet away with him.
The ticket man suspected that it was seriously time to get a new job.
Title: The Greatest Temper Tantrum
Fandom: Death Note
Rating: G
Summary: Sayu was always the one who threw temper tantrums as a child.
Sayu was always the one who was known for throwing temper tantrums as a child. When she didn’t get her own way she would pout and then she would get louder and then she would wail and shriek and beat her fists. Her father got cross, her mother would get worried and Raito would get irritated.
“Your brother never throws temper tantrums,” her mother said sadly once. “He’s always been such a good boy.”
This was guaranteed to make Sayu louder and angrier. But she had to admit, it was true. The closest she’d ever seen to Raito having a temper tantrum in public was a cross quiver of the lip or the moody folding of his arms. He just didn’t seem to have normal reactions to things as far as Sayu was concerned. He was just … so perfect.
Of course, Sayu grew out of her temper tantrums. She grew up. And Raito stayed the same, perfect and sweet and totally lacking in any sort of temper.
Then things changed. And when she found out more about what Raito had been doing throughout her teenage years, Sayu wondered vaguely if Raito had been having the worst, most prolonged temper tantrum of them all.
Title: Buiness as Usual
Fandom: Merlin
Rating: PG
Summary: Merlin knows just how to cope with Arthur's temper tantrums.
Arthur was having a temper tantrum.
It was subtle of course. Princes did not throw temper tantrums. They just made their servants life a misery until they were absolutely sure that their displeasure was totally noted. And that servant was Merlin of course. Oh joy.
“Honestly Merlin! You’ve been here what feels like forever. Anyone else would have at least a rudimentary grasp of how I like things done around here. But you? No, no, you just keep living your oblivious little life and totally fail to notice what is in front of your face!”
Merlin nodded. He wasn’t quite sure what he’d done wrong yet so nodding in vague agreement seemed the best option. Arthur clearly didn’t require input anyway. He was still going.
“I mean, does anything actually happen in that thick skull of yours? Any activity at all? Does your brain even work?”
Nod or shake the head? Difficult choice. Perhaps a bland expression … good enough.
“I mean, I think of myself as a not unreasonable master,” Arthur said, quite unreasonably. “But you would try the patience of a saint, Merlin.”
A nod here, definitely. Arthur liked to be agreed with, especially when he was winding down in his ranting.
“Honestly! Arthur said, a final expression of irritation before letting whatever had inspired his temper.
“Sorry,” Merlin said helpfully.
“Good,” Arthur said. “As you should be.”
And it was over and he was telling Merlin that they were going hunting and then Merlin complained about not having had any lunch, Arthur threw a pear at his head and told him to stop dawdling. Business as usual.
