I often have to Google characters (lack of fandom knowledge) when I read fics during 12 Days because I like to visualise as I read; I was so not disappointed Googling a photo of Chiyoko! She definitely looks like a woman with a minigun.

That aside, this was a beautifully done mixture of sadness and strength - I really enjoyed Kaneda's reflection on his childhood.
