I do like this. It's not a happy ending, but I'd certainly not call it an unhappy one, because it ends with potential and hope -- optimistically, I'd say.

(Hutch, babe, are you sure Duluth is the place for you? If you ever fancy coming to England...)

Thank you very much.

I think for S&H it is a 'happy ending', as they are both content with their decision; they know it's the right one for them. But for hard and fast S&Hers (which I used to be), I doubt it would be considered happy.

Hee. *Waves to a fellow Hutch fan* Perhaps he could stop off in Scotland too?

You have done it again. Made me cry. That is too sad. I am too addicted to relationships. I never liked the SH show. But I love the S&H pairing. And I sure do like the slash stories.
It is funny going down your lists of stories. There are some pairings I am just not interested in. But there are some that I latched on to even before I knew that men could have relationships together. When I was a teen, I loved MfU and Wild, wild West. Just reacted to the chemistry between the partners. Kirk and Spock did not make it for me but Garak and Bashir did. By that time, I did know that men could be lovers.
And I take the pairs I like too much to heart.
Thank you for your great writing.

Oh, dear. I am sorry about that *hands over tissues* And yet, I'm also chuffed because it clearly touched and moved you so much.

You and me both. I was seeing 'slash' (not that I knew the term existed or that there were other people like me out there) in shows like S&H and The Pros and ST: TOS and in books like Holmes and Watson when I was a young teen. And I was very naive too; I had no idea how men made love. Even then I was making up stories, where they were 'together' but nothing more than hand holding or maybe a kiss.

Thank you for reading and commenting.
