Speedy, who was named in the spirit of irony, keeps a steady pace slightly behind me until it is time to trot. Michelle hasn't gotten the hang of kicking a pony to make it go forward yet, and even if she had, I don't think one could expect a much faster pace from Speedy; her legs are not yet longer than ( Read more... )

It's been years and years and years since I last rode a horse.. 2006 to be precise while in North Carolina. I used to do horseriding as a kid and loved it, but couldn't continue once my folks seperated and I moved to the city and started studying violin as part of the talented youth department of the Royal Music Academy in The Hague. They were kind of against pretty much every single form of exercise it seemed, because of the possibilities of us injuring our precious fingers or other limbs (which I guess in a way makes sense, as we were all young musicians or ballet dancers and it's a tad difficult to do such with broken bits'n'pieces.. but come on - we're KIDS!) :) I studied there for 2 years but then decided it really wasn't my place to me: I loved being surrounded by other kids like myself, heavily involved with music, but hated the atmosphere of "I'm better then you" and elbowwork (at that age already, ugh, though it became worse when I was studying the violin at music academy after graduating highschool) and the fact I couldn't ( ... )

Yet again, I am taken aback about how much we have in common (troublesome tickers, cats, horses, and of course friends). If you are ever in Sweden, do stop by and we can go on a day-trek in the local national park on horseback!
