Anmerkungen: Keine Ahnung, wo das herkam. Als ich das Bild gesehen haben, musste spontan an Criminal Minds denken, weil es mich sehr an Garcias Büro erinnert hat. Und dann kam irgendwie eins zum anderen. Eigentlich sollte es freundlicher enden, aber beim Schreiben wollte es dann nicht mehr.
She just sits and stares at her screens. She loves her screens. They are her safety net, her shields that protect her. When the horrors that fill them become too much, they allow her to pretend it’s not real, it’s only on the screen. They distance her from the world outside. That’s their blessing - and their curse. Because she can only sit and watch.
Watch as this young woman fights for her life.
Watch as the water rises.
Watch as she gets up on her knees, on her feet, finally on her tiptoes.
Watch as she pulls her head back, desperate to keep her face out of the water.
Watch as the gentle waves lap over her mouth, then her nose.
Watch as the water finally submerges her.
Watch as she struggles against the merciless chains one last time.
Watch as she finally goes limp.
Watch as the last bubbles raise to the surface.
“I’m sorry”, she says as she touches the screen and her only comfort is that this woman’s death won’t go unnoticed because she will bear witness till the end of her days.
