I have found that eating alone in the dining hall while reading a book makes you an immediate target for random strangers seeking to engage the introverted and lonely whittie. The opening question for these sorts of conversations is invariably "What are you reading ( Read more... )

Those darn extroverted first years. They jumped me every time I sat alone in the dining hall the first week of school. There was one girl who got rather embarrassed when she insisted I sit with her and her friends and then found out I was a junior. Every once in a while I see her around campus, but she absolutely refuses to make eye contact.

People are funny. :-)

I'm not sure why it should make a difference that you're a junior. It just means you're a little more set in your anti-social ways.
