Oh, I loved this! I was loving it all the way through, and then the twist was the icing on the cake. The snark between the three brothers -- and John's attempts at mediating -- and the adolescent behaviour was just perfect. And then the twist. Yesss.
(Hey, have you read All Consuming Fire by Andy Lane? Because that's got a Sherringford Holmes in it -- albeit a different one to this one -- and it's quite an enjoyable if somewhat cracky read if you haven't (it's a Who/Lovecraft/Holmes crossover from the Dr Who New Adventures.)
I laughed and laughed and giggled into my sleeve (i'm at work and am supposed to be "working" but ended up reading fic instead). Then i got to that last scene and I fucking hyperventilated OMG OMG NOOOOOOOES!
You fucking hit it square on the head: the dynamics of the eldest/middle/baby sibling relationships. I couldn't help but feel for Mycroft (I know how you feel, buddy), and might have gotten all googly eyed when Sherlock stood up for his baby brother. Look of helpless adoration indeed.
This was so amazing! I just love the interactions between the three brothers. Especially concerning John. How Sherringford wants John and Sherlock to be fucking, and then apparently how he's imprinted on Sherlock's John. Oh god, it was all glorious! XD
And that twist... I went from greatly amused to OH NOES!!! in less than thirty seconds! You're going to write more right? Right?
