*GAH*! That was beautiful. Very, very sad but somehow right for them to - poignant but also passionate. In particular, I liked the quite dignity of it - their different responses to old age but also the shared sense of past between them and the way they faced it both individually and together. Very, very moving. Memmed.

Thank you. Writing aging characters is a special challenge, so I'm glad I got it right.

I'd tell you how very right this is, in every way, if I weren't crying too hard to see the screen. I can see/hear this. It could happen. It would happen.

And boy am I glad I'm reading this at home and not at work...

::takes tissue:: ::does a big nose-blowing honk:: Thanks.

In case I was incoherent (more so than usual), the fact that I was crying so hard was a big compliment to you. The story was so well-written and so believable that it seemed way way too real. Great job!

Definitely made me cry! That was beautiful, and so very tragic! This part hit me.

"But then again, I always have wanted to go out with a bang."

John chokes on a noise. It might've been a laugh. It might not have. "Jesus, Sherlock-"

"John," he scolded gently, and raised the violin to his shoulder again. "Do be quiet now. The song isn't over."

*bawls* Great work!
Ari
