I'm so happy to see a new Merlin fic from you, and it's fantastic!

You would not believe how much I cooed over Ambrosius. And Elen, for that matter. Even cuteoverload doesn't get those kinds of noises out of me. But yes, I just loved this one - the action, the affection, the secrets and the ADORABLE TINY SQUEAKY OWL.

Hah! Ambrosius is a Eurasian Pygmy Owl, and the squeaking is totally true. I looked this up!

And I kind of wish someone would art this fic, especially with Uther and Elen and Elen's badger armor. Possibly I found Redwall more adorable than I should've.

I forgot that I meant to quote my favorite line: And then that small feathery body nuzzled up against the side of Arthur's face, making him gasp. It was warm and soft and he could just feel its tiny, raging heartbeat.

Also loved Morgana's dragonfly and Will's fox especially.

A series of portraits would be amazing. I wish I could do it myself, but my drawing skills are pretty unsteady.

Maybe if I ever have enough cash to commission lizardspots, portraits can be arranged.

Some of the daemons were pretty hard to figure out. I pegged Arthur, Merlin and Gaius right away, but I had to think a long time about Uther and Morgana before I could come up with something fitting. And don't ask how long I researched some of the names.

I can't believe anyone would throw rocks at something that cute! I love that Arthur's daemon is a horse. It's so fitting. It must be a bit of a pain in battle though. Horses, I think are fair game, even though Daemons are not. But maybe for people who have them, the difference between an animal and a daemon would be clear enough.

Yeah, it seems pretty clear that daemons are DAEMONS, regardless of what shape they take. And you know Arthur's not letting Amaranth out in battle without armor on. :-)

Wow, this was FABULOUS. I loved the HDM fusions in SGA, and this was just as marvelous. I was literally on the edge of my seat waiting for the big reveal -- and I loved that Amaranth (hee hee, we have a box of Amaranth flakes in the cereal cabinet) found out about Ambrosius before Arthur.

Just lovely. I tremendously enjoyed it. Thanks!

Thank you! I actually chose that name because of the flower (and because it's Greek for "undying") and only later found out that it's also a grain. Whoops.
