Stella had hugged Aiden when Aiden told her about her new girlfriend, a cop from Vegas…Sofia Curtis. Linds burst in on them. “I don’t believe it…” She backed out and ran, tears in her eyes.
“Linds…” Stella chased after her, hearing her office door slam and sighing, slinking back to Aiden. “This is such a mess…”
Aiden smiled softly. “Just let her overhear us talking about ‘Fia…”
Stella shrugged. “Worth a go…” She agreed. Stella looked up. “In-coming…”
“So anyway…I next to never see Sofia…bet your glad you’re dating someone you see every day…” Aiden said, deliberately setting it up so Linds heard her.
“Yeah… Linds is really the only one I could love…” Stella agreed, noting Linds’ look of mortification. “Anyway…I think I’d better get back to work…” She exited, barely glancing at Linds as she headed to her office.
Linds followed. “Stella?” She sounded upset and Stella turned to look at her. “I’m sorry…I should have known you’d never…” Her words failed and her eyes shone with tears. Stella crossed to her and hugged her close, kissing her softly.
“I forgive you…” Stella said softly. “I love you…”
