June 28th: We've just returned to Ipswich for the first time in six months. Learning of Kate's pregnancy, a decision amongst the sons was made. We grabbed what we could carry, packed Kate away and left. We told no one where we were or where we were going. We just left and took Kate and her child far away from here. We didn't return when Kate's sister was hit by a runaway car and put into a coma. We didn't return for two more deaths of those we know, or to see what the stories on the news about biblical plagues were about. Local crops have failed. Children are dying. Many are calling it a return of the witch like when the covenant began. Ironic that, for once, they have it right.

I returned today to find out if its true, if Tyler's ex had a baby. Rumours has it she not only gave birth but that the child was a boy. A boy that she gave the last name of Simms. If this is the first born of the next generation, I need to find the child and quickly. I need to find him before Chase does.

July 5th: Found the girl and the boy at Ipswich 4th of July celebration. So did Chase. I suspect it's a fireworks display that most won't forget. Especially those that saw a young girl struck down by what appeared to be summer lightening. Chase killed the mother, but I have the boy. I can't stop running. Not until I know he's safe. Not until I know Chase is dead.

September 19th: Chase has gone to ground again. Not a word since the 4th of July. He's out there, looking for us. Now it's not the three of us that remain he wants. He wants the children. With them he could force us all to will our power. He could raise them like him and then take what is theirs. He could breed more witches and live forever? Its a thought I hate entertaining but it keeps popping into my head.

September 22nd: Kate gave birth to a baby boy. He is 8 lbs 9 oz and 21" long. He is beautiful. So utterly beautiful. Nathan Simms and William Parry. Two born. Two more in the covenant. No matter what I might have hoped, it will not end with us. Unless we can find and kill Chase, this is a battle that will be waged for centuries to come. The world goes on believing witches to be the stuff of story and myth and right under their noses we fight for our lives, and the right for our children to live.

October 31st: Reid has gone missing. Pages are gone from the book. He has gone off for Chase. I wouldn't have thought it of him before but now, with the children, he's matured. Finally. Finally but too much. He's gone to sacrifice himself to save the rest of us. I can't let him go alone. I have to help him. Alone he won't be able to stop Chase. Not as easy as he is to rile. Chase will have his power before the end of the year unless we can save him.

November 24th: Chase isn't stronger than us. I'm realising this each battle we have. He's not stronger, he's more ruthless. Not only that but there is nothing he cares for but magic. He can use us against one another but there is nothing we can use against him.

December 25th: Returned to hiding with Reid. We were wrong. There is something that we can use against Chase. Or we could if we were as cold and heartless as he is. Sarah bore a son before her death. Chase's son. He's out there. Now all we have to do is find him.
