I don't think I realized until now---it's frames of film? Isn't it? Am I nuts or am I a little slow? I just thought it was a cool border before.

Her looking up, then the view up the stairs..ooh...I agree it's ominous.

Yes! You got it! I wondered how long it might take for people to "see" that these are, in fact, two frames on a filmstrip. It took me a few minutes too, when I first saw the cover. My MC is an avid photographer, so I think within the first chapter that aspect of the cover will be evident, but it's fun to see people figure it out before they even read.
