That would be cool. I'm trying to recall it and I can't. Probably because this cover blew it completely out of the water. I'm really digging this cover.
Dear Kiersten, When they showed the final Cover #1 to Barnes & Noble and other book reps back in October, the response (I heard this second or third hand, obviously) was that it was too historical and that the book would do better with something iconic. So the art director, who'd been working on Cover #1 for months, through countless permutations, went back to scratch and hired a new person to come up with a new concept. What's going on with your cover? All best, Caragh
(Also, lest that sounded too whiny, I'm just excited is all. I've got the same designer who did The Series of Unfortunate Events and Aprilynne Pike's Wings, so I'm really, REALLY excited to see what she does!)
Like Kiersten, I'd love to hear why they scrapped the old one. This one is much better though- I like how you can actually see the full title, lol. I always kept thinking your book was just called Marked because it was so much bigger than "Birth" and done in a regular font. This is also just more aesthetically pleasing. YAY for you!!
Ha! I know what you mean about "Marked." I thought people would be sorry if they accidentally picked up mine instead of Jen's "The Mark." My reply to Kiersten crossed with your question. Does that answer for you, too? All best, Caragh
I thought the same thing too! In fact, I was just about to ask when the name change happened. LOL Love this new cover, Caragh. Gorgeous and moody and wonderful.

Would you mind telling why they scrapped the old cover? I'm always so intrigued by the process.
