Yay for Kat! I'm already sold on her adventures :-) I'm also a huge "write what you find fun" kind of writer too. So glad you've come to the Tenners!

Oh, thank you! :) I am such a firm believer in the fun maxim now - I don't know for sure about other people, but in my own case, trying to write The Sensible Thing generally turns out badly in the long run, whereas writing for fun has led to everything good in my writing-life so far!

I love Yorkshire! I went to Bradford University for a year when I was in college. Ahh ... Haworth ... York Minster ... endless curries ... the wonderful Yorkshire accent ...

Your book sounds wonderful - congrats on your deal! If only 2010 weren't so far away.

Oh, yay Yorkshire! We live on the edge of Leeds, right next to Bradford, actually - until I got pregnant, we went to Bradford for curries at least once a month! (I'm hoping to get back to that habit as soon as the baby's out and the heartburn finally goes away...)

Thanks so much for the congrats! And ohhh, I am already counting down the days until 2010! :)

Welcome Stephanie! And big big congrats on the baby-in-progress, Kat, and the dual citizenship! Sounds like life is GOOD. So happy to be sharing the Odyssey with you. :)

Thank you! Life is REALLY good this year - it makes me both really, really happy and really, really nervous! ;) I'm so glad to be sharing the Odyssey with you, too! :)

I think your writing advice is spot on. A lot of my trunked books are definitely sort of brain-over-heart stories, and the one that I sold was the one I wrote "for fun". Yay fun!

And congratulations, again! It makes me so happy when good people with talent get rewarded!

Yes - it goes against a lot of the "pro writer" advice I'd heard over the years, but it really does seem to be true: following the fun is so much SMARTER in the long run than following our logical, common-sense brains!

And thank you so much! :)
