I think that odors are the surest way to unlock memories. We're so set up for pheremones going straight through to the lizard brain that other smells can follow the well worn track.
I've never had a sandwich like that and now I want one. *growls at you* and the cherry almond soap.. I have body lotion that flavor. Yes that is something to strike into memories.

No tomato sandwiches?! I don't think my dad eats anything else from the time he picks the first good tomato from the garden until the vine is empty. They've never been my favorite, but he and my sister swear by them.

For years the smell of an orange being peeled brought thoughts of Christmas and blueberries taste like summer.

Nice little story. With all that description, it's easy to put myself in his place.
