.zip versus .rar Compressed Files

I've been informed that more people have access to .zip file software because it is included with Windows. I'll be changing all of the .rar compression files I have on my deviantART account to .zip format in the coming weeks.

I usually use zip files quite frequently. But last time I had a very complicated problem with zip files. I could afford to resolve it only with the help of one tool, which should effectively relieve in this question - fix zip.

Thanks for the info. I've never had a problem with .zip or .rar files, but I'll keep this in mind if I do.
