Author's Notes: the boys are seniors in college. neil's parents are very, uh, open-minded.
Neil is talking to someone in his bedroom, and Daniel comes out of his own room just in time to hear Neil snap "Ok! Fine! I'm reading porn!"
Daniel is a little curious about where exactly that came from, and why would Neil announce it so loudly, but he's not sure it's a conversation he really wants to have. There are some things about your friends that you just don't need to know.
He's sitting on the couch drinking hot chocolate and reading TE Lawrence when Neil comes downstairs.
"My parents are freaks," Neil announces.
Daniel makes a noncommittal noise. He likes Neil's parents, what he knows of them, but he wouldn't disagree with that assessment.
"Freaks."
"Yes?" Nash says, appearing from the general direction of the kitchen. Daniel looks up. Nash is wearing his coat, so he must have been outside smoking. "What are we talking about?"
"Neil's parents," Daniel tells him.
"Are freaks? Welcome to the club." Nash shrugs out of his coat and slings it at the back of the couch. It lands in a heap half off the cushions. Daniel resists the urge to get up and hang it on the coat rack by the front door.
"Freaks with porn," Neil adds, sounding disgusted and confused at the same time. He shudders a little and goes back upstairs.
"What did I miss?" Nash asks. He drops onto the couch next to Daniel. Because he's apparently trying not to sit on his coat he ends up almost sitting on Daniel. "Is Neil disturbed by the porn?"
"I have no idea," Daniel says.
"Huh." Nash peers over Daniel's shoulder. "What are we reading? Do you have porn?"
"TE Lawrence, and no. You'd have to ask Neil for that. Or his parents."
"I think I will. Although knowing him, it will have tentacles in it." Nash heaves himself off the couch, pats Daniel on the head, and follows Neil upstairs.
"Freaks," Daniel mutters, and goes back to his book.
