Ah, yeah, there was always a lot of that kind of tension between the two of them, even early on in the show. Sounds like it got more overt toward the end, which I haven't seen, but it doesn't matter. We know it was always there.

I really like Scully feeling good when she hears those three little words from Mulder, even knowing it wasn't exactly him doing the talking. Because she would, she's like that.

Thank you very much for reading this. I've just started watching the show, but I felt the tension right from the first moment they met and it even grew stronger over the years.I believe that's what made them such a great team overall.

I have another drabble featuring this scene (from his POV) almost written. I will post it later.
