Excellent shot! And brave too, getting close enough to take it - that eagle looks well fierce!

Thank you! He does look a bit fierce. I was driving to the pharmacy yesterday and there were about 30 eagles feeding off two dead coyotes. It was amazing since they were really close to the road and didn't all fly off when I stopped the car!

Oooooh - bold eagle! Awesome shot and congrats for getting so close (and apparently on your belly, too) to get the shot. Yes, nature isn't always pretty, but it's still nature.

Thank you! I was very thrilled to get this (and the other 150 less impressive photos) on my way to the pharmacy yesterday. Yep, I didn't even get out of my car to take the pictures. :-)

What a great shot! I've never seen a bald eagle in the wild.

Thank you! I'd never seen them either until we moved up here 10 years ago, and I still get a thrill when I see them.

What a terrific shot. The setting in the winter field of sticks, the bit of wind ruffling the eagle's feathers, that inherently fierce eagle face--it's sad to see the little dead furry mammal, but if ever there was an image of "Life Goes On," this is it.
