Thanks! We ride bikes frequently on trails here and I'm constantly seeing things to fulfil the challenges here. But this is the first time I thought to bring a camera! It -does- put a damper on the ride, having to stop and take the time to set up shots, but I even got my fiance pointing out "oh, that'd make a good photo for X" by the end of the ride :)
Thanks! Lock was a fun one to take. When we saw the pole, I knew I wanted to capture this because it seems so ridiculous. But I kept thinking "how in the -world- can I make this interesting AND still show the lock. I took a bunch of close versions of the lock, but it just wasn't obvious what was going on. Then I had the idea for this. Actually I tried playing with the focus on the camera to try to get the top of the pole to be out of focus but couldn't figure it out :(
I love Vein particularly, with leafless vines and the brick wall. It really spoke to me.
I have seen locked down bollards like yours before. The bollards I saw could be unlocked to allow cars to use a walkway, if needed. That's a great picture anyway - I love both the brilliant red and the angle of the shot. I like the angle on Rust, too. FanSee
Thank you! I really don't know much about cameras (though I'm trying to learn) so my focus has always been on setting up a shot with interesting angles/composition before just snapping the button. So I'm glad that you commented on the angles!
That brick wall is super long, and most of it is COVERED (too bad I already did that prompt last week heh) with leafy vines, so it's hard to tell there is a wall underneath! But this one section just had the branches and it stood out.
I really like vein - it's a good interpretation of the font, and smile really me smile, as it brought back memories of making pizza with my children when I was younger. I like all of your pictures, in fact, but those are my favourites.
Thanks! The pizza was a lot of fun to make, and as soon as she said she wanted to make a smiley face, I knew I'd have to get a photo for this prompt. I am not very good at capturing people in photos (of course, that would be a good reason to -work- on them instead of avoid them...shhhh), so I've been dreading ones like "smile" and "smirk" and was glad for this work-around.
