Another nice group - I really like the arrangement of cross, with the flag as the one splash of colour in the foreground, contrasting with the sombre stiffness of the stones. Somehow the arrangement of the gravestones suggests soldiers on parade and the flag emphasises that and simultaneously symbolises what they died for (except it probably isn't a military cemetary at all and I'm talking complete rubbish aren't I?...)
Yes. Corporal Balls to be precise. I'm so glad that's not my name! The jokes he must have had to endure....
I like to play with B&W with the cemetery photos. It's a place where it really comes in handy as an option. It can add gloom, depth, or just age to the most common of photos, and really enhances my better shots, which are coming more frequently than they did last year. This community has taught me so much by looking at other people's photos, and all the practice trying to get the 100 prompts done has taught me so much about what works and what doesn't.
The cemetery as a whole isn't a military cemetery, but this particular part of it most definitely is. There's even a tall standy-up thing in an odd shape that's supposed to be a war memorial although to me it looks more like a prototype of a rocketship in stone. This particular cemetery has graves dating from WWI to a couple of local lads killed in Afghanistan. We're a young country and our cemeteries emphasize that.
You know, for all the cemetery-going I do, I'd never noticed that military headstones are arranged as if "on parade". But you're right, of course. I wanted to highlight the flag as I'm country-proud, but I'm pleased to think that it's giving a sense of community to the soldiers. The answer is no, you're not talking complete rubbish, your ideas are very interesting.
However much I know your icon is the interior of a flower, it's going to keep on looking like a magical volcano of sorts in a fantasy world to me!
Cross is great... I especially like the lovely strong lines of the gravestones and their carved crosses and the splash of colour in the snow adds interest.
Great interpretation for Progress; I love stepping of the collection if little stones in the foreground, the trees, and the water-tower.
LOVE the photo and concept of progress! Also, I like the repeating crosses in cross, but I think texture is awesome, pine needle texture, pine cone texture and engraved dates texture, awesome!

Nice photos too, Progress is a good interpretation and good choice with the B&W.

And thanks! :-)
