I look over at him and he gives me that patented Blair Sandburg smile. I can do nothing other than smile back. I have to tell him that I love him. I can't keep it to myself any longer. I am sure he'll love me back. At least, I hope he will.
On the drive home, I continue to look over at him, stare at him I guess you could say. Finally, he's had enough and he turns to face me in his seat.
"Is something wrong, Jim?"
I hear the worry in his voice. I don't want him to be worried. I want him to be happy.
I pull into the parking lot of an empty building. Now I see a frown of confusion marring his handsome features.
"I need to park to talk to you. I don't want to risk an accident." I pause, not sure how to tell him I love him. I suppose straight out is always the best way.
I reach out and take his hand in mine. I look at his face and see another smile forming. Okay, that's a good sign. "Blair, I love you." There, that wasn't that hard. And the smile is still on his face. Definitely, a great sign.
"You… love… me?" The smile is still there. "Wow! That's great! Because I love you too, Jim." He leans in and gives me a soft kiss on the lips. I hold him in my arms, hugging him.
"What do you say we get home and explore this more thoroughly?"
A brilliant smile is my only answer.
