I've yet to encounter anything that suggests an Interventionist God, I suppose I regard these sorts of displays the same way I would animal sacrifices - superstitious attempts to suck up to invisible entities.
“We are going to intercede at the site of the statue of the bull on Wall Street to ask God to begin a shift from the bull and bear markets to what we feel will be the 'Lion’s Market,' or God’s control over the economic systems,”
Well, because God's done such a bang up job of controlling everything else that's gone wrong.
They seem to use the basic crazy-Christian logic of "everything bad is your fault, everything good is God's fault". Or possibly the prosperity doctrine.

I actually heard this preached, nearly verbatim, at a Presbyterian church in California.

"All this bad stuff is happening!"
"It's your fault, not God's. God is only responsible for the good things. The bad things are all our fault because we're UNWORTHY and we're SINNERS!"
"What do I do?"
"Pray that God will help you out of this bad situation and make it a good one as ONLY HE CAN HALLELUJAH AMEN!"
"I prayed and nothing happened! In fact, the situation got worse!"
"You didn't pray hard enough! You weren't sincere! There is SIN in your LYFE! THIS IS SOMEHOW STILL ALL YOUR FAULT!"
Pff.
