Sooo I had my trial day today~ It went pretty well I think, did a bit of everything from labelling items to checking stocklists and deliveries, stocking shelves and helping out at the till~ :3 The people seemed friendly enough and I didn't have any trouble doing what I was supposed to do so it seems good to me. I won't know a definite decision

Did the bookshop say why it would take that long to decide? Are they trialling other people or something? You could always ring them and ask if they know yet, and it looks like you're eager to work for them. =)
It is a tough decision... personally I would be more inclined to take the job with Rayners, as it isn't definite the bookshop will offer you a place (although I hope they do.) For me the primary objective is just to get some income and some experience and stuff atm. And of course it wouldn't be peramanent lol, you could just work there for a while and if you don't like it you could look for something else.
That's just my opinion tho, obviously it's your decision ^^ I dunno, I just know from when I was looking that it is REALLY HARD to get offered a position. It took me a year to get offered a job. It's just be a shame to be back at square one lol, but then on the other hand you might be offered the other job so I dunno really >.<
What about the job at Rayners are you uncomfortable with?

I phoned Rayner's and explained the situation and they said to tell them once I knew the decision for the other place so hopefully if I don't get the bookshop one, I'll still be able to work part time for them.
I dunno, I just wasn't as comfortable there as other places. It seemed a bit too... professional I guess, I don't really know how to explain it. Like everything has to be perfect. XD; And it would be good for a career but it's not really the sort of career I'm interested in. Which is probably why I didn't get the full time one but I don't mind that~
