I don't really have a sad face icon.

A little over a week ago, my mom's iMac crashed. I bought it for her in April 2006 so it's only two and a half years old, and this was the second major problem we've had. I don't really use this computer that much since I have my iBook, but I used it to store some photos and movies. Anyway, I'd gotten the Apple Care warranty thing so we took it ( Read more... )

I've always used a Mac so people usually come to me when they're thinking of switching and expect me to say how awesome it is. After my iBook failed (that makes two Macs out of three I've had that crapped out), I think I disappoint the potential switchers when I give my assessment.

It's always harsh when a hard drive dies. I had a hard drive crash in my laptop back in like 2004 and I had everything on there and I cried for like the entire weekend. I was really sad plus I lost a lot papers on it too.

I can't imagine how awful that is. The two times my hard drives have failed, I've lost things that I was sad to lose, but nothing that was truly important like papers. :(

It's one of the few shows that I've ever been scared to lose. I've even considered being part of those letter writing coalitions to show fan support or whatever.

Being a person who has lost pictures that are irreplacable, I cannot express how important an external harddrive is, and how you should pencil it right into your calendar twice monthly to move files over. That is what I do and I feel so much safer. *Except when I dropped my external harddrive on the floor but all looks ok so far*

**hugs**

A very persuasive argument. :) You're not the first to have told me to get one but I'm finally going to be smart about it and get one before another disaster occurs and I actually do lose something that's really valuable to me.

I can't tell you how important it is to have an external harddrive. My harddrive crashed two years ago and I didn't have an external and I lost everything. I felt like I had just erased two years of my life as if they never happened because I keep my world on my computer. I have one now and all is good and well in the universe, and it comes in handy so many times. Do it!!!!

Also, Pushing Daisies is wicked awesome. I love that show.
