I'm excited to hear this because I couldn't afford to buy the volumes from over seas. Now I can buy them domestically beyond volume 3. Yay! Anybody

Considering how long Go! Comi's prints have been out of print I think it's a good thing they're starting from volume 1. Maybe it will gain some new fans who can't find vols 1-3. I know you can still buy them if you look, but unlike with Loveless where Tokyopop had already printed 1-9 leaving only 2 volumes for VIZ to print 07-Ghost only had 3 volumes out. It wouldn't have been a good business choice for VIZ to start from the beginning in the case of Loveless.

I spend too much time researching and reading about manga publishers.... ^^;;

the only reason VIZ isn't starting with 1-8 of loveless is because it actually has a solid buying fanbase. Volume 9 was never printed by TokyoPop. I do have vol 9 in Japanese however. However being that TokyoPop is dead now means no more printed copies of loveless. They also could have omnibus'd the 1st 3 volumes. By time they get to releasing volume 4.... late 2014? good job!

I misunderstood what I read about Loveless. I mistake I will properly own up to. I should have done a more detailed search. It wasn't a title I followed for very long. I apologize.

As for the specific reasons behind publishing from the beginning; I'm merely speculating. All I'm really saying is that Viz might be able to get the product in front of more readers since they are a larger company that Go! Comi was. They have the ability to advertise more and with digital reading platforms becoming more prominent for manga I hope for the possibility that the title can acquire new readers who may not have discovered it before.

Anyway, I was just trying to keep it positive. ;) Even though I own 1-3 from Go! Comi I'm just the type of fan to go back and buy Viz's editions. Just like I went back and bought Kodansha's version of Until the Full Moon. Viz's version is bound to be a little different and who knows, there may be extra content. ( ^_^ )

Conflicted because I heard while their shoujo line is awesome but their shounen line quality is not that great?
