All I have to say about the naysayers is what my sister said yesterday over the phone as we were massively squeeing over the season finale: "Good luck; we'll miss you in the fandom!"

I am trying not to really listen to the naysayers. I started to realized a while back that this show has 40 + years of history and they are never going to give the doctor a traditional happy ever after. I feel this was the closest thing and I like it. I was just happy to get to see a kiss and anyone who thinks that kiss wasn't as good as some others in the shows history(Madame de slutface) I disagree. I thought it was a great kiss, although I do wish they would have put the one shown in Confidential on the actual episode.
Anyway, sorry to ramble, but I am fairly satisfied with this outcome and I feel for handDoctor as much as anyone else. He got abandoned too, but it's clear he can give Rose something our Doctor still can't.

I honestly don't have any problem with hand!Doctor and think he showed more courage and sense than proper!Doctor did in the end. "Does it need saying?" Really, Doctor, she's asking, isn't she? And what the heck is his problem being all self righteous and yelling and talking down to hand!Doctor for his actions (Dalek genocide) when he's (the collective He's) done that himselfs countless times.

I suppose.. hand!Ten is Ten without the bullshit tacked on. Because proper!Doctor is kidding himself if he thinks he's a better man than hand!Doctor when he didn't even give Rose a choice in staying or going, nor did he give a choice to Donna on whether she died fantastic and special or lived the ordinary and mundane existence she had before. If I had to choose right now at this moment between a human Doctor who makes mistakes and lashes out when everything he knows and loves is being threatened by his oldest, greatest enemies, or a lonely god Doctor who snaps his fingers and makes all the decisions for everyone because he so obviously knows

I said mostly the same thing (Save for the blue suit, doesn't really bother me?) But yeah. He's still the Doctor... I treat it VERY much the same way as a regeneration. Rose doesn't get a choice when he regenrates either.

I definitely agree! I was very happy with what happened in the end (although I wouldn't have minded some of those Confidential clips sliding in there too) - and I've noticed the 'the relationship is doomed' lot over on Doctor Who Forum (very determined haters, I should add) - nice to see some common sense leaking in here!

If Torchwood here has loads of alien mysteries and adventures, then so can the one there, so while he can't travel he can still have some good times! And maybe they could always use some goodies stored away to do the odd journey now and then!
