Oxade - Tocard
Incense - Starlet
Nominal Silence - The Calmness of Motion
Jean Strong - You Hurt My Feelings (The Lesbian Stalking Song), which is quite sweet, in a fairly messed up sort of way.

Goldenhorse are a New Zealand group doing fairly well here these past few months. They may be the kind of pretty you're after, check out Northern Lights.

www.diepunyhumans.com occasionally links to some interesting stuff. I just downloaded an odd atmospheric piece called nyack, worth listening to once or twice, though probably not much more than that.

...This is me thinking pretty...
Ben Harper: "Walk Away"
Anything by Sublime (Not so much break-your-heart-pretty, but fun when you're by yourself and wanna break out dancing. Erm. Yes.)
Johnny Cash: "Hurt"
Jimi Hendrix: "Wind Cries Mary"
Bob Dylan: "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright"
Nick Drake: "Cello Song" "Fly" "Pink Moon"
Blue Man Group ft. Dave Matthews: "Sing Along"
The Beetles: "Two of Us"
G-Love and the Special Sauce: "Kick Drum"

I'm leaning towards those pretty songs that break your heart in the wee hours of the morn

hm... Death Cab for Cutie's "405" springs to mind...
Air, "Surfing on a Rocket"
Scissor Sisters, "It Can't Come Quickly Enough (Party Monster edit)"

have fun in your music search!

Party Monster edit. As in the Party Monster movie with Seth Green and Macaulay Culkin? Even if it is or isn't, that movie would have rocked so much ass if it weren't for the teeny tiny fact that Macaulay can't act to save his life. He should go back to designing DIY home security or something.

totally agreed! Seth Green wasn't all that good in the movie, either. Maybe they figured if they played more convincing queens, we'd all think they were *really* gay.

And that's where the fun begins.
Silly men and their sexual insecurities.

Athena. What's up, man? How'd you find me?

Word on the Elliott Smith. I heart him. "& anything, really" indeed. :)
