Fat/Not Fat

I've been a fat person since my early mid-20s. I was a size 9-ish (though of course I thought I was terribly fat then) in high school, moving into a size 7 afterward and into my early 20s. Yeah, I will always be an ally for people of ANY size. Because that is important to me. But I have definitely noticed that fat people are often automatically hostile to thin people, especially thin women. And being in a position of having lost weight might make them even more hostile.

This is why I am very very blunt about the fact that I am not on a diet. When people ask me how I am losing weight (and they always ask) I say that I take my thyroid medication and I keep processed sugars low. I am not "on a diet" and there is no special virtue in weight loss.
