I like it when close friends call me "Cin". It sort of lets me know when they feel close to me... like we've reached a certain point in our friendship.

However, I made the mistake of telling some people I wasn't close to, in a conversation similar to this I think, that I liked to be called "Cin". One of them will call me it now, and it sounds wrong to hear him say it. *shrug* I'm not going to correct him or anything, but eh. It is what it is.

Yeah, I don't like it when people who are not my close-ish friends call me by nicknames or try to hug me.

In fact there is a local woman who I dislike who keeps making really familiar comments toward me and trying to touch me, and if it keeps up, she's going to get an earful. I've been polite so far but I am losing patience.

There are two saints named Prisca... they are very interesting ladies! At least one was quite important in early Christianity.

No. I am considering taking it as a church name in EGC, though.

priscus -a -um [ancient , antique; of the old school, venerable; former, previous]. Adv. prisce, [in the old-fashioned way].

So you are traditional, of the old ways, with wisdom and authority. :)

I'm pretty much totally the opposite of my name :) But I do have some things in common with the Saints Prisca. :)

Prissa sounds pretty. I always use the full Priscilla because Pris, Prissy and Cilla just don't feel comfortable for me to say. Don't have a pretty ring to my ears, I guess.

I think you know that if you called me Prissy, it would go hardly with you.
